A Word From The Pastor

Bethesda Baptist Church is a life-giving church in Harlem, Georgia with a growing children's program, and bible-centered sermons. We are a family of ordinary people who serve an extraordinary God. We live to fulfill our commission to love God and love people. We view this as a lifestyle, not just a tagline. But, I'd rather you come by and experience this for yourself instead of just taking my word for it.

Take a moment to look around and I believe you will find there is a place for you in the family.  From our Children's Ministry to our Senior Adults Ministry, Bethesda has exciting things happening that will not only challenge you to grow in your knowledge of Christ, but help you exercise your spiritual gifts and skills that God has given you.  We believe that every person has a part to play in this wonderful journey we are on with God.

What to expect...

Coming to a new church shouldn't be a daunting experience.
Below is some information on what you can expect during your visit with us.

What is it like?
Our church is a traditional style church.  We do mix in some contemporary worship elements
on occassion.  We are open to newer music and our cantatas do a good job in reflecting that.

What about my kids?
Children of all ages are welcomed here.  We not only offer Sunday School for all age groups, but
also offer a Junior Church program, called CHAMPS, for children 1st- 6th grade.  They get to
experience their own style of worship service as the adults attend the traditional worship
service in the Main Sanctuary.  The will have snacks, play games, and learn biblical truths.

Where do I park?
We have a very large parking lot. We have designated handicapped parking directly in front of the Main Sactuary. We would also encourage our visitors to use this area as well.

What do I wear?
We want you to experiencethe Holy Spirit.  That means you don't have to dress like an oil tycoon to attend our services.
As long as what you wear is in good taste, come on in the doors.

How can I get connected?
You can find our recorded services on our Facebook and YouTube channels.  You can contact us via email or phone if you need to talk to us or ask us about anything.  We are here to serve the community.

What We Believe...

The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man.
God
There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Man
Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation.
Salvation
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.
God' Purpose of Grace
Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners.
The Church
A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel.
Baptism
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Lord's Supper
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.
The Family

God has ordained the family as the foundation of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.
